Delta Air Lines is the official
carrier for the Conference. In the US and Canada you can purchase
tickets from Delta directly by
calling 1-800-241-6760, and selecting option 3 for international
travel (weekdays 7:30a.m. - 11:00p.m. or weekends 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Eastern Time). Mention File Number 188098A when ordering.
Please, make your travel arrangement
as soon as possible, since tickets sell out quickly,
especially for such a popular travel
destination as Moscow/Russia during the peak season. Also
keep in mind that the visa
processing can be lengthy. Inquire for visa at least one month prior to
travel.

Visa
All non-Russian citizens have to obtain visa before entering Russia.
You can arrange for visa through Russian Connections
travel agency (see the contact info above) or other travel agency which
is experinced in Russian travel. You can also submit your visa application
to the nearest Russian Consulate
(http://www.russianembassy.net/iservice.nsf/cities/) but be
forewarned that it is a lengthy procedure.
The information given below comes from many
sources and we cannot be responsible for the accurracy of the information.
We strongly encourage you to check the local situation
personally, since Russian Visa requirements are different in different
countries.
The organizers STRONGLY encourage you to use travel agency to get
Russian Visa. While it is slightly more expensive than the fees charged
by Russian Consulate, the procedure is simpler, faster, and does
not require official, confirmed, visa support invitation which
is cumbersome to obtain. You will save yourself a lot of time
and frustration, provided that you use a reliable travel agency.
Only travel agencies accredited with the Russian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs can help you in obtaining
the Russian Visa. Ask for this!!!.
In Europe you can use the Resebuero Schweizer (Travel Agency) in
Marburg, Germany (Am Richtsberg 68, 35039 Marburg, Germany,
tel: +49-6421-942427; FAX: +49-6421-942417, Contact: Olga Boehm).
They provide two weeks visa invitation for 55 Euro, 7 Euro for mailing,
and 17 Euro for insurance. It takes them about 18 working days to
get the visa. Express processing and mailing is available for
additional fees. Check also the list at:
http://www.visatorussia.com/russianvisa.nsf/agents.html
or search the Web at http://www.google.com for terms: Russian Visa
and your country name.
If you submit your visa application yourself you need to include
the official invitation letter from the Meeting Organizers.
Again, the procedure is cumbersome and slower than
with the reliable travel agency.
This invitation letter is arranged with the
Foreign Office of the Kurchatov Institute and it takes about 3 weeks to
prepare. When ready, the letter will be FAXed to you, and also sent
to you by Air Mail (up to 10 days). Formally you may need the original
of the letter, but Russian Consulates usually accept the FAX.
The letter will be provided only to invited speakers and
participants who request it and who are officially
registered (i.e., registration fee was paid or waived).
To arrange for the official invitation letter PLEASE PREPARE
THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:
First and Last Name.
Date and Place of Birth.

[Note: no invitation letter
is required if you arrange your visa through the travel agency. We strongly
advise services of accredited and competent travel agencies since getting
visa through them is faster and simpler.]
