MIET is one of 39 universities, which have the status of ’national research university’. The major areas of education and research at MIET are electronics (including nanoelectronics), biotechnology for electronic applications, information and electronics security, and materials for electronics.

Science & Technology

As a national center for electronic industry Zelenograd has several R & D organizations with their focus on electronics and related areas, such as IC research and production consortium Angstrem, and State Research Institute for Problems in Physics ) and its common use research facility Sinkhrotron leading federal nanoelectronics R & D center. Zelenograd is also a home of NT-MDT consortium of the companies for development and production of nanotechnology equipment.
