Russian VisaThe information given below comes from several sources, and the organizer of NGC2011 can not be held responsible for its accuracy. We encourage you to verify the procedures with your local Russian consulate or with a respectable travel agency. Visa requirements vary from country to country. Foreign citizens travelling to the Russian Federation require an entry visa. As of June 1, 2010, the Russian Consulates within the United States no longer accept mailed visa applications. It is suggested that participants opt to obtain a tourist type visa. Applications are accepted three months or less from the date of travel, and all travelers must have a passport which remains valid for 6 months after the date of travel. Visa application forms may be found at the web site of Embassy of the Russian Federation to the United States of America For participants in USA the organizers STRONGLY encourage you to use a travel agency to obtain your Russian visa. While it is slightly more expensive than the fees charged by Russian consulates, the procedure does not require an in-person application. You will save yourself a lot of time and possible frustration, provided that you use a reliable travel agency. Only travel agencies accredited with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs can help you in obtaining the Russian visa. The organizers recommend using Passport Visa International for participants travelling from the United States.
