Arizona is a part of the US region commonly known as South West. Its border states are California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and bordering country is Mexico. Arizona does not have a common border with Texas. The State has two major cities, (mega polis) Phoenix and Tucson. Some people may be confused by the fact that the name "phoenix" is used to call city of Phoenix (capital of Arizona) and the whole mega polis area, which also includes Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Glendale, Chandler, Gilbert, and a few other cities, which have their own councils, police and taxes.

Origin of the Name "Arizona" - The name "Arizona" has a few roots. It comes from Spanish interpretation of "arizuma" originated from Aztec Indian word for "silver-bearing" and Pima Indian word "arizonac" for "little spring place".
