If you want to present a paper at the symposium, please submit your abstract: http://asdn.net/moscow/software-abstract.shtml.

The E-MRS 2002 Fall Meeting in Cracow was cancelled at the last moment by the E-MRS Organizers. The Symposium A: Software Development for Process and Materials Design was one of the six symposia to take place at this meeting.

The number and the quality of abstracts contributed to Symposium A made us quite confident that this Software Development Symposium would be successful and worthwhile. We decided to move the Software Development Symposium to Moscow and hold it on September 15, and 16, 2002. The travel costs are similar. We are also able to substantially lower the registration fee by attaching this symposium to an existing, larger meeting. Since Software Development Symposium is now a satellite symposium of the Symposium of Nano and Giga Challenges in Micrelectronics conference. You may actually consider to participate in both meetings (which are quite complementary) and save on registration fees and travel.

While Software Development Symposium and all its sessions are now moved to Moscow, we also want to accommodate those who already made reservations and plans to visit Cracow. We will have a small presence there. Organizers and several participants will be in Cracow on September 18 and 19, immediately following the Moscow meeting. Check the informal program there at the About Cracow page. We invite you to the software demonstration at FQS Poland. FQS Poland is a developer and distributor of important computational chemistry, data mining, and data transformation packages. After morning software demonstration and science program, we will have a nice sightseeing and social gathering in the beautiful Cracow.

Registration fees for the Symposium are lower than originally proposed by E-MRS. It should help you offset the cost of changing your travel arrangements and also encourage to come to Moscow (and Cracow...):

If you participate in the Nano and Giga Challenges Symposium on September 12 and 13 (registration fee paid or waived), you qualify automatically for the 50% discount on the Regular and Student registration fees for the Software Symposium, i.e., discounted registration fees will be 75 US Dollars (regular) and 50 US Dollars (Students). There will be no discounts on fees for Acompanying Person and Cracow reception.

If you want to present a paper at the symposium, please submit your abstract: http://asdn.net/moscow/software-abstract.shtml.

Accompanying persons are welcome at all meetings events, including reception, meals and coffee breaks. The conference fee for accompanying persons does not include conference materials.

Registration fee will be fully reimbursed if cancallation is received before the meeting
