Subject: NGCM2004 conference update

Dear Organizers of NGCM2004 meeting:

After the Summer break we start an active campagn in advertising our
meeting and will appreciate your help and collaboration. Please, find
below the list of recent updates and plans.

1. MEETING AND TELECONFERENCE OF NGCM2004 ORGANIZERS sponsored by Motorola
Russia and DigitalDNA Lab will be held October 1st, Wednesday at 6 pm
Moscow time (4 pm Central Europe, 10 am USA East Cost) locally in Motorola
offices in Moscow (Gasheka 7, tel: 7-095-785-0150) and in St Petersburg
(1st Artileriyskaya; tel:7-812-329-1901). The organizers at other
locations can join the teleconference by dialing in USA/Canada (free of
charge) 1-877-883-0896 and from other contries 1-706-634-0211; Passcode:
591321# Please, join the teleconference to exchange the ideas and to
discuss the plans!

2. MEETING WEB SITES: Since currently the main activity in meeting
organization is focused on developing the technical program, and world
wide meeting advertising, search for the sponsors and registration of
participants we temprarly swap our "front-end" and "back'end" web sites.
All essential information and updates are now available on the web site in
ohio Supercomuting center http://www.asdn.net/ngcm2004/ and the one in
Ioffe Institute has only a general information and a pointer to the OSC
web site: http://www.ioffe.ru/NGCM/

3. REGISTRATION is now available on line. We kindly ask the organizers to
register themselves to facilitate communication between the members of our
team of organizers.

4. TEAM OF ORGANIZERS: We welcome new members and will appreciate your
advice in inviting those who are interested to provide support and help in
organizing our next Nano & Giga meeting. Particularly, we are interested
in ideas regarding new sections (spintronics?) and those who can help to
organize them. We have vacancies for (co)chairmen of two important
sections, magnetic materials and optoelectronics. Your advises on the
candidates are most welcome.

5. SPEAKERS: We have an outstaning initial list of invited speakers and
may add a few more names later once our budget situation becomes more
clear.

6. SPONSORS. We currently have listed three major sponsors, which provide
a very valuable in-kind support, Ioffe Institute (host of the meeting),
Elsevier Science Publishers (host of our proceedings publication) and Ohio
Supercomputing Center (host of our web site and center of the internet
based communication and registration). We need "cash sponsors" to cover
all other major costs and invite all of you to help with our fund raising
campagn for the meeting.

7. CONFERENCE FLYER is attached. It has an updated information and is
intended to be printed on two sides of one page and formatted to fit into
a regular envelope (three-folded). We will appreciate if you help with
advertising the meeting by sending it to your colleagues and distributing
in your organizations and the meetings that you may attend.

Thank you for your support and contribution in organizing our second Nano
& Giga forum!

Sincerely,
Anatoli Korkin, chairman of the Programm Committee NGCM2004
