NGC2007 Newsletter -- December 20, 2007 SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM: Preliminary scientific program is now available at the conference web site: http://asdn.net/ngc2007/scientific-program.shtml Further details will be available soon. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please, contact Dr. Erica Forzani (Erica.Forzani@asu.edu). Your contribution is highly appreciated! Business sessions will be added to the program soon after the list of keynote and panel speakers is completed. PROFESSIONAL AND SOCIAL NETWORKING: We?d like to remind you about a new networking option which is now available on the conference web site - internet networking club: http://asdn.net/cgi-bin/ngc2007/networking_club/nc_start You can submit your resume, job offer and (informal) proposals for research and business collaboration and social networking (room and cost sharing on local travel, rental car, etc.). Proposals may include full contact information or can be also submitted anonymously to secure comfort of privacy in selecting the right partners. We anticipate that our new internet networking tool will help our participants to enhance networking during the conference by establishing initial contacts prior to the meeting. Although we have tested our new web communication program, we anticipate some programming and logistical imperfections may remain in the code and in the interface. We would appreciate your suggestions and critical comments on this new communication tool: http://asdn.net/cgi-bin/ngc2007/networking_club/nc_start SOCIAL PROGRAM: We plan to organize the trips to the Grand Canyon in the most convenient and economic way. Meeting participants may also use the time on the road as an additional networking option. Depending on the number of the travelers we will rent a bus or a van of the appropriate size. Suggested days for the visit are March 11 (the day before the meeting), 13, 15 and`17 (the day after the meeting). Please, notify Ms. Simone Lange (lange@phys.upb.de) of your first and second (if you have flexibility) preferences for the day to visit Grand Canyon. The cost of the trip (USD 100) can be paid along with the conference fee. Please, specify that you plan to visit Grand Canyon, the number of people taking the tour and their names when you request an invoice for credit card payment or in your message if you pay by check or bank wire. The GC tour takes about 14 hours. An early tour reservation will help you and organizers better planning of this exciting event and will prevent cancellation of the tours because of unsifficient of participants. REGISTRATION AND CONFENCE FEES: At this time we accept registration without presentation by sponsors, businessmen, reporters, students, exhibitors, conference organizers, observers and guests. Our current conference fee is $400 for regular participants, $200 for full times students and $100 for accompanied persons. Although the late conference fee payment can be paid at the registration desk, we would appreciate you considering an early rather than last minute payment. This will provide us better options to secure more services for participants at lower costs from our service providers. For security reasons, the account number for wire transfer and access to the internet gate for credit card payment is provided by individual request. For further details, please, visit the following web page: http://asdn.net/ngc2007/registration_fee.shtml Thank you for joining us at the NGC2007 meeting. We look forward to seeing you in Arizona! Happy Holidays! NGC2007 Organizers December 20, 2006
